“We are not sure that there is a COMPLETE feeling of being alive, there are sparkles of it certainly and music is giving us those sparkles, too, among other non-professional activities.”
Following a most enthusiastic start in Romania, on all types of media and for millions of listeners, inevitably, we have brought Carla’s Dreams on our radar. We have seen a totally different approach to the music industry, bold, without gloves, songs that go directly to every person’s heart. Bringing back to life past experiences, feelings, sad or not, their music and words resonates with important parts of our lives, revealing new sides, every time we listen to them.

You have just surprised us with #eroina. “Sub pielea mea” is a very different song than the rest of your hits your fans are already used to. What made you change the style for this song?
We didn’t exactly have a style, we just made music that we liked and this song is the continuity of that process.
How did you get to create such a powerful and unique love statement?
Nothing special, really… it came naturally, without too much thinking done over it.
What gives you the inspiration to write your songs? How many of the situations you sing about have been part of your life and how did they affect you?
The most of them were or are still real but you have to consider that we are a very diverse group of people so the experiences vary too.
Do you consider that your song, “Scrisoare fratelui mai mic” could be an inspiration for creating a better society, better people?
We know it is seen like that by some people and we are proud of it in a way, but no, we are not guiding anybody’s interpretation of this or any other song.
How do you feel knowing that your songs reach directly to your listener’s heart?
That is a great feeling… it also gives you a bitter taste while going on and writing new songs, because of the responsibility, we guess.
You became one of the most famous artists in Romania, in a very short time. What do you think made the crossing from Moldova to Romania successful?
Does it work, the thing with painted faces…? Did you manage to still keep a normal life?
Yes, and we would like to thank the media for respecting our humble position on this issue.
This “painted mask” for Carla’s Dreams voice worked not only on keeping you safe from the public life but as a marketing strategy, also. Who had this brilliant idea and how did it came out?
It wasn’t planned, though we would certainly like to say it was.
If your, let’s say, “secret” would be revealed and you’d be exposed to a public, famous life, what would you do?
Let’s solve problems when they appear. Whatever we think now is a falsification, because we are now different from whom we might be when something like that eventually happens.
What is your favorite language to write/sing in?
It really depends on the song. That is how we choose the language actually, so… no big differences, if you can feel the beauty of all of them in their own way.
How do you like Romania? Where would you choose to live in Romania, if necessary?
Well, if it would be necessary, it wouldn’t be a choice any more, isn’t it? We like Romania, we already said that we are in the romance period with this beautiful country now.
Many artists take the path of being different, slightly eccentric even, in order to promote themselves. After I’ve watched some of your online interviews, I’ve realized that you, on the other hand, keep it normal. Do you think that promoting normality where only your work would stand out could be enough to be successful in this music industry?
People are not stupid. So there is no need to lie to them because, sooner or later, the truth will come out, and that would hurt everybody. We think that normality is different from mediocrity so we don’t see why we would not keep it just normal.
What makes you feel alive? What activity gives you the complete feeling of being alive?
A very hard question… We are not sure that there is a COMPLETE feeling of being alive, there are sparkles of it certainly and music is giving us those sparkles, too, among other non-professional activities.
You might hear this a lot, but is there a story behind your band’s name?
Yes, there is one. We will tell you this story, but not very soon, hopefully.
